New Delhi: The verdict in the MJ Akbar-Priya Ramani case will now be delivered on February 17, a Delhi court said on Wednesday.
Delays in written submissions have led to the verdict being deferred, the court said.
A defamation case was filed against former editor and Union minister Akbar after Ramani, a journalist, accused him of sexual harassment in 2018 when the ‘Me Too’ campaign was at its peak.
Ramani had tweeted that she was sexually harassed 20 years ago when she had gone to meet Akbar – then the editor of an English newspaper — for an interview.
Akbar subsequently quit as minister and also filed a complaint against Ramani, accusing her of tarnishing his image.
