Mercury Drops To 7.5 Degree C In Daringbadi As Cold Wave Grips Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Cold wave gripped Odisha further on Sunday with the mercury plummeting to 7.5 degree Celsius at Daringbadi in Kalahandi district.

Phulbani at 9.3 degree C and Sonepur at 9.8 degree C were the other two coldest places in the state at 8.30 this morning.

The temperature dropped below 12 degree C at several places – Balasore (11.3), Angul (10.0), Keonjhar (10.8), Sundargarh (11.0) and Titlagarh (11.1).

The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 15.1 and 13.5 degree C respectively. The Pilgrim Town of Puri felt the winter chill at 15.6 degree C.

The minimum temperature at other places witnessed a similar drop with Koraput at 12.0 degree C, followed by Sambalpur (12.4 degree C); Baripada (12.6 degree C); Bhawanipatna, Hirakud and Talcher at 13 degree C;  Jharsuguda (13.6 degree C); Balagir (14 degree C); Chanbali (14.4 degree C); and Paradip at 16.5 degree C.
