Ayodhya: A grand and magnificent temple of Lord Ram built in Ayodhya, is the temple where the idol was installed on 22nd January 2024. The temple will complete its first anniversary on the 11th January 2025. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the one who declared this historical event on behalf of the whole nation, fulfilling a significant dream after the 500-year battle for the very temple at the exact location that Lord Ram was born in and where he is supposed to have been incarnated.
The beautiful seventy-first anniversary is looming just around the corner, but there are doubts in many minds as to why the anniversary does not get celebrated on the day when the statue was placed. The answer to it seems to be in the calendar that is followed by the people in this religion.
The day of great ceremony with the name of Pran Pratishtha was held on Paush Shukla Dwadashi (Kurt Wabash) as per Hindu lunisolar calendar and was not just down to being on January 22. The calendar date of the Gregorian system that matched was just by chance.
The management of the temple shrines is planning to observe the date of the festival by the Hindu month chart this year, which Paush Shukla Dwadashi will be on January 11. Thus, the time, when the idol was installed with a joy on the date of January 22 last year, will be celebrated separately from now on the official anniversary which is 11 January.
Last year’s Plan Protista ceremony was a big event attended by many people including the diplomats of different countries and devotees from all over India and other parts of the world. The main host was Prime Minister Modi, and he played a key role in getting this honour. He had been involved in a series of events over the course of eleven days including a fast, and visiting shrines that were deemed sacred.
Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Shri Ram Temple Trust, shared the information regarding the upcoming three days of celebration which would begin on January 11. He further validated that all the customs and traditions will be according to Hinduism. Rituals such as offering Agni Devta with 1,975 mantras and chanting the Shri Ram mantra six lakh times will be held during the festival.
The celebratory events will also feature musical renditions of Ram Katha and cultural programmes at various sites throughout Ayodhya. Songs dedicated to God in addition to prayers will echo through the temple complex for the entire three days of the events.
This event is historically significant because it is a religious landmark and offers a springboard for a cultural resurgence for many Hindus across the globe.
