In an article by The Daily Guardian, a relative of Lawrence, 50-year-old Ramesh Bishnoi said that the family has alway: been rich and never thought that Lawrence would be involved in any criminal activity. Lawrence’s father was a constable in the Haryana Police and the family has more than 110 acres of agricultural land in the village.
A Life of Wealth and Crime
Ramesh Bishnoi said, “We have always been rich only.” Lawrence was once dressed in costly accessories and shoes, and the family now expenses ₹35-₦ 40 lakh annually to cater for his maintainance in gaol.
Now in Sabarmati Central Gaol, Ahmedabad, Lawrence Bishnoi has been a recurrent troublemaker within prison since his arrest in a police encounter in 2014 when he was in Salasar Balaji Temple in Rajasthan. Still, being gaoled, Bishnoi is connected to such crimes as the murder of Baba Siddique.
Murder of Baba Siddique and Accusation of Lawrence Bishnoi
One of the most recent high-profile targets attacked by Bishnoi’s gang is Baba Siddique, the former Maharashtra minister and an NCP stalwart. The supposed revenge is said to have arisen from the gang being close to Siddique who is linked to actor Salman Khan – an individual that Lawrence Bishnoi has vowed to eliminate. But even now the police are looking for Bishnoi’s direct implication in the crime.
The police are pursuing the perpetrators of the murder of Siddique with the use of firearms, having conducted searches in numerous residence.
Oh Canada! Allegations against Canadians and International Scrutiny
A similar event was when Canadian authorities increased the dossier of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang in engaging Indian government agents in conducting vices in Canada. The Indian government has rejected these assertions with a lot of emphasis.
Further, the accused Bishnoi who runs criminal activities not only in India but also in the international domain too has been an active session of probes. The intelligence agencies functioning in India, which are actively investigating different cases on him presently include; ATS Gujarat and NIA.
The Union Ministry of Home Affairs in August 2023 passed an order that transferred Bishnoi from Sabarmati Central Gaol cannot take place since he continues to be detained there under heavy security.
While investigation into Baba Siddique murder proceeds and, more attention is paid to Bishnoi’s criminal activities in recent times both in India and intationally, authorities are in the process of assessing the capacity of his involvement.
