New Delhi: To honour the immense contributions of former President Doctor APJ Abdul Kalam on his death anniversary, the Bharatiya Janata Party is set to launch a nationwide campaign titled Kalam Ko Salaam on July 27. The initiative aims to connect the youth of the country with the vision of a developed nation under the Viksit Bharat pledge.
The commemorative campaign will officially begin with a Unity March in Rameswaram, the birthplace of the late visionary leader. The march will commence from Doctor Kalam’s residence and conclude at his memorial. Across the country, various district headquarters will host floral tribute ceremonies, intellectual discussions, and free medical camps to mark the occasion.
A special delegation from the BJP Minority Morcha is scheduled to visit Rameswaram to meet the family members of the former President. Jamal Siddiqui, the National President of the BJP Minority Morcha, finalised the campaign details after extensive discussions with his national team.
Siddiqui stated that the primary objective of the initiative is to highlight Doctor Kalam’s unparalleled contributions to science, education, and nation building. He emphasised that the life of the Missile Man of India continues to inspire the entire country, especially the youth and the Pasmanda community. He added that the party has always honoured great personalities who worked for national interest above religious and caste lines.
The campaign will strategically focus on inspiring young citizens to actively contribute to the goal of making India a developed nation, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s broader developmental framework and Doctor Kalam’s visionary roadmap.
Several prominent figures, including Uttarakhand Waqf Board Chairman Shadab Shams and the Tamil Nadu BJP Minority Morcha State President, are expected to participate in the Unity March.
To ensure maximum reach, a dedicated public awareness drive will also be launched across various social media platforms. This digital outreach will spread Doctor Kalam’s ideals, scientific temper, and his dream of a prosperous India to every section of society, ensuring his legacy continues to guide future generations.
