Mumbai: Many had wondered why Jasprit Bumrah flew back home from Sri Lanka after India’s Asia Cup campaign-opener against Pakistan, on September 2.
Having returned to international cricket last month only after a 10-month break, had India’s premier fast bowler picked up another injury?
Well, the answer was provided by Bumrah himself on Monday.
He wanted to be with his wife Sanjana Ganesan, who delivered the couple’s first child today – a baby boy they have named Angad Jasprit Bumrah.
“Our little family has grown & our hearts are fuller than we could ever imagine! This morning we welcomed our little boy, Angad Jasprit Bumrah into the world. We are over the moon and can’t wait for everything this new chapter of our lives brings with it — Jasprit and Sanjana,” Bumrah wrote on X with a cute picture of a baby’s hand.
