New Delhi: As air raid sirens sounded over Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, killing at least three Israelis, Israel’s Defence Minister warned that “Tehran will burn” if missile strikes continue against Israel’s heart.

Even more intriguing are the scenarios that take place outside of spas – these could happen in twenty years or even thirty. Over 200 ballistic missiles were launched by Iran on June 14, 2025, at Israel in four waves in response to Israeli airstrikes on Tehran’s nuclear and military sites the day before. Most missiles were intercepted by the Israeli military, but some landed in residential areas, including in Ramat Gan near Tel Aviv, where one person was killed and 19 injured, local media reported.

On June 13, Israel began Operation Rising Lion, which struck Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility, killing military officers and scientists. Iranian state media reports that 60 people, including 20 children, have died in a strike on a housing complex in Tehran, occurring more than a week into the fighting. So far, Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has threatened further revenge, calling it “Operation True Promise 3.”

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister, claimed the strikes delayed Iran’s nuclear plan for years. In a video statement, he said, “We will strike any target of the Ayatollah’s regime.” “If Khamenei keeps firing missiles, Tehran will pay a high price,” said Defence Minister Israel Katz” US officials pointed out that they helped with the interception of Iranian missiles, while denying any connection to the Israeli attacks.

Tensions have surged into a conflict that has already devolved into the most serious fighting between the two countries for decades and has raised the spectre of a wider regional war. As the Middle East flirts with the edge, world leaders demand a de-escalation, but both sides pledge more strikes.
