Indo-Chinese Troops Clashed At Arunachal LAC On Dec 9; Injured Soldiers Taken To Guwahati

New Delhi: Indian and Chinese troops clashed along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang sector on December 9, reported PTI.

The news agency, quoting Defence ministry sources, said the two troops faced off in Yangste area near Tawang, resulting in minor injuries on both sides. At least six injured Indian soldiers were taken to Guwahati for treatment.

Indian troops successfully thwarted about 300 Chinese soldiers, who were attempting to get access to the top of a 17,000-feet peak by uprooting an Indian post.

Both sides then disengaged from the area.

“As a follow-up to the incident, our Commander in the area held a Flag Meeting with his Chinese counterpart to discuss the issue in accordance with structured mechanisms to restore peace and tranquility,” the Defence source told PTI.

In October 2021, Indian troops had intercepted around 200 People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in the same region, close to LAC in Arunachal.
