New Delhi: With 62,064 new cases registered overnight, India’s COVID-19 tally breached the 22 lakh-mark to stand at 22,15,075 on Monday.
Also, 1007 people succumbed to the novel infection across the country in the last 24 hours, taking the fatalities to 44,386. The national fatality rate stands at 2 per cent.
India’s COVID-19 cases have risen above 60,000 for the fourth day in a row. For the last six days, the country has been reporting more COVID-19 infections than any other country in the world.
According to the Union Health Ministry, the cumulative recovered cases (15,35,744) have surpassed the active cases by 9,00,799. The recovery rate stands at 69.33 per cent crossing the peak of 15 lakh.
The number of sample testing labs have increased to 1406. According to ICMR, the total number of samples tested are 2,45,83,558 including 4,77,023 on Sunday.
India’s daily coronavirus caseload is increasing steadily while the USA and Brazil have reported cases lower than 50,000 in the last three days.
