New Delhi: In a relief to buyers from being fleeced by mask sellers, the Central government has regulated the prices of masks sold in the markets in the wake of the coronavirus panic in the country.
Now, two-ply masks will be sold for Rs 8 each and per piece of three-ply mask will cost Rs 10, Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan has informed.
In a tweet on Friday, the minister said the price of the fabrics used to make the masks will be revised to that existing on February 12, effectively making them cheaper. The price regulation is implemented under the Essential Commodities Act, the tweet added.
