Cyclone Montha, a severe cyclonic storm forming over the southeast Bay of Bengal, is expected to make landfall along the Andhra Pradesh coast between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam near Kakinada on the evening or night of Tuesday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red and orange alerts for several districts in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and West Bengal, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall and strong winds.

Wind Speeds: Sustained winds of 90–100 km/h, gusting up to 110 km/h, are expected at the time of landfall.
Rainfall: Extremely heavy rainfall is anticipated in coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh, including Visakhapatnam, as well as in southern Odisha and parts of West Bengal.

Evacuations: Approximately 50,000 people have been evacuated to relief camps in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.
