Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued dense fog warning for 13 districts in Odisha.
The national weather agency also predicted light to moderate rainfall in 21 coastal and interior districts.
The IMD, in a morning bulletin, said that an upper air trough runs from sub-Himalayan West Bengal to north interior Odisha across Jharkhand. Under its influence, light to moderate rainfall will occur in the districts of Nuapada, Balangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Ganjam, Cuttack, Khurda, Koraput, Kandhamal, Rayagada and Nabarangpur districts for two days till December 27.
Besides, there will be dense fog in the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Cuttack, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Kandhamal and Kalahandi.
The weather is likely to change after December 28 with the onset of intense cold wave and a sharp fall in the night temperature by 3-4 degree Celsius across the state. This condition will prevail till the fist week of January, the bulletin added.
