London: A knife-wielding man terrorised a packed train heading to London’s King’s Cross from Doncaster on Saturday evening, resulting in 10 passengers getting injured, including 9 in critical condition.

The chaos erupted minutes after the train departed Peterborough station around 7:30 pm on November 1. Eyewitnesses described scenes straight out of a horror film: blood splattered everywhere, passengers screaming and scrambling for safety. “People were yelling, ‘Run, run, he’s stabbing everyone!’ I thought it was a prank at first,” one shaken traveller told the BBC.

Another recounted to Sky News hearing a wounded victim cry, “They have knives; they’ve got me!”

Desperate commuters locked themselves in toilets or piled over each other in panic. “Everyone was shouting ‘We love you’ to calm someone down,” a witness shared with The Times.

British Transport Police swiftly arrested two suspects at the scene. Officer Chris Casey confirmed a counter-terrorism probe is underway to uncover motives. Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the attack “appalling,” urging calm and wishing speedy recovery for the victims.

As investigations continue, this incident highlights growing concerns over public safety on the UK’s railways.
