Kashmir: In Jammu and Kashmir, police have intensified their search for Yasir Bhat, a Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist who has been missing for an extended period. Yasir Bhat, accused in the 2019 grenade attack on the Jammu bus stand, was last seen after being released on bail. Authorities have now issued a high alert in the region and distributed posters featuring his image, urging the public to remain vigilant.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Vibhishan, addressing the media, highlighted the urgency of the situation. He stated, “Yasir Bhat is an accused in the grenade attack on Jammu bus stand in 2019. He is missing after coming out on bail. Posters have been put up in search of Yasir Bhat, who went missing from Srinagar. People have also been asked to inform the police.”
The grenade attack in March 2019 resulted in the tragic death of one civilian and serious injuries to over 28 people. Yasir Bhat, a minor at the time, was quickly identified and apprehended by security forces shortly after the incident. According to reports, Bhat had traveled from the valley to Jammu the day before the attack and was intercepted while attempting to return.
The sudden disappearance of Yasir Bhat has left security agencies on edge, prompting an extensive search operation. Police have plastered posters with his photo and details across Jammu, hoping to gather any information that could lead to his apprehension. Citizens have been urged to report any sightings or information related to Bhat’s whereabouts immediately.
The incident underscores the ongoing security challenges in the region and the efforts by law enforcement to maintain peace and order. As the search for Yasir Bhat continues, authorities remain on high alert to prevent any potential threats.
