Headmistress Suspended For Making Students Kneel Down In Odisha

Bhadrak: Headmistress in-charge of Padmapokhari Primary School in Dhamnagar area of Bhadrak district has been suspended for allegedly making a Class I girl and two other boys of Class II and Class II respectively kneel down on the school premises.

The Block Education Officer placed Sagarika Rout under suspension after a video of the  incident, which took place on Friday, went viral on social media.

According to sources, the headmistress in-charge punished the trio after they allegedly fought with each other for some reason while consuming midday meal.

The incident drew flak from different quarters since the Odisha government has imposed a ban on corporal punishment in all state-run and private schools in the state since 2004..
