Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Announces Major Relief Measures for State’s Population

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has unveiled a series of significant relief measures aimed at providing economic and social support to a large section of the state’s population. In a move that directly benefits 46 lakh families, the government has announced that beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme and those with an annual income of less than Rs 1.80 lakh will receive LPG cylinders for just Rs 500.

Key Announcements:

  • LPG Cylinder Subsidy: Beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme and 46 lakh families with annual incomes below Rs 1.80 lakh will get LPG cylinders for Rs 500. This measure aims to ease the financial burden on low-income households.
  • Matrishakti Entrepreneurship Scheme: The loan amount for self-employment under this scheme will be increased from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. This is expected to encourage more women entrepreneurs and boost economic independence.
  • Chief Minister’s Milk Gift Scheme: To combat malnutrition, 150 days of fortified milk will be provided to girls aged 14 to 18 years studying in schools.
  • Support for Self-Help Groups (SHGs): The revolving fund for SHGs has been increased from Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000, and the monthly honorarium for Group Sakhi has been raised from Rs 150 to Rs 500. An interest-free loan of Rs 100 crore has been allocated to strengthen SHGs, with a target to provide loans worth Rs 490 crore this financial year. The Chief Minister also felicitated 66 women self-help groups in the state.

    • Education for Girls: Free education till graduation will be provided to daughters of families with an annual income of up to Rs 1.80 lakh.
    • Vivah Shagun Scheme: The amount under this scheme has been increased from Rs 41,000 to Rs 71,000.
    • Women Entrepreneurs: Loan amounts for women entrepreneurs will now be up to Rs 5 lakh, increased from the previous Rs 3 lakh.

    • Sanitary Pads: Three lakh adolescent girls and school-going girls will receive free sanitary pads.

Chief Minister Saini emphasized that these announcements reflect the government’s commitment to the welfare and well-being of every family in Haryana, particularly women. “Our announcements today are going to give big relief to every family of Haryana, especially women. The double-engine government of BJP has always given priority to the welfare and well-being of women,” he said.

Saini took a jab at the opposition, asserting that the BJP fulfills its promises, unlike the Congress. “These announcements are a manifesto for us because whatever the BJP says, it also fulfills. Congress only misleads people by telling lies. She doesn’t do anything when the opportunity comes. For the entire five years, the Congress only loots the treasury in the service of its brothers and nephews and a few families,” he added.

The comprehensive measures announced by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini aim to uplift the socio-economic conditions of the state’s residents, ensuring a better quality of life and increased opportunities for women and low-income families.
