The video circulating throughout Pakistan shows Saeed threatening bloodshed by declaring that stopping the water supply will lead to blood filling the river. The intelligence agencies of Pakistan are said to be responsible for disseminating this alarming warning, which has caused mounting tensions between the two nations during a period where armed attacks against Indian citizens became a concern in Pahalgam.
The violent incident that killed defenceless civilians forced the Indian government to launch immediate countermeasures against Pakistan’s support for terrorist activities. India took two countermeasures, after which the country first suspended the Indus Water Treaty and secondly expelled Pakistani military advisers and defence officials based in New Delhi.
