New Delhi: In a highly anticipated cinematic reunion, Bollywood’s beloved actor Govinda has commenced shooting for his role in the upcoming war drama Battle of Galwan, marking his first collaboration with Salman Khan in 18 years.
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film is inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops, a confrontation fought at over 15,000 feet above sea level without a single bullet being fired.
The buzz around this reunion began when Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, appeared on Bigg Boss 19 during the Diwali week, where she and Salman discussed the much-awaited collaboration, sparking excitement among fans.
Although the film’s title was not officially confirmed at that time, insiders have now revealed that Govinda has begun filming his portions for Battle of Galwan. Reports indicate that he has already completed several scenes, donning a new moustache look that aligns with his character in the film.
The film also stars Chitrangda Singh and is expected to showcase intense and powerful performances from both Salman and Govinda. Their last on-screen collaboration was in the 2007 hit Partner, and their reunion in a serious, high-stakes drama has generated significant buzz among fans and industry insiders alike.
As the shooting progresses, anticipation builds for what promises to be a compelling addition to Bollywood’s repertoire of war dramas. Fans eagerly await the release of Battle of Galwan, hopeful that the film will do justice to the bravery and sacrifice of the soldiers involved in the historic clash.
