Google Doodle Marks 73rd Indian Independence Day

Google on Thursday posted a doodle showcasing India’s 73rd Independence Day.

The doodle was created by artist Shaivalini Kumar and it shows “traditional motifs from Indian textiles evoking the complex yet harmonious ‘patchwork’ of Indian culture, ranging from education, to the arts, to courage and compassion.”

It also depicts Raksha Bandhan, which falls on the same day this year.

The doodle takes users to “Indian Independence Day” search results.
The country became independent from British rule on August 15, 1947.
