Mumbai: The highly anticipated fifth instalment of Rohit Shetty’s immensely popular comedy franchise, Golmaal, has moved one step closer to its theatrical release. Actor Sharman Joshi, who is making a long-awaited return to the blockbuster series, has officially completed shooting for the film. Sharing an exciting update with fans, the actor revealed that Golmaal 5 has now wrapped up its principal photography and entered the post-production phase.
Joshi will be seen reprising his beloved role as Laxman Prasad Apte, a character he immortalised in the franchise’s debut film, Golmaal: Fun Unlimited, released in 2006. His return to the comic universe has been one of the biggest nostalgia factors driving the excitement for the upcoming release. Filming for Golmaal 5 commenced earlier this year in March, boasting a star-studded ensemble that includes Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, and Kunal Kemmu.
Speaking warmly about his experience on set, Joshi expressed his joy at sharing screen space with the franchise’s lead, Ajay Devgn, after almost two decades. “Working with Ajay sir in Golmaal has been a very beautiful opportunity for me, which I got once again. I have truly enjoyed this journey,” the actor shared during a recent media interaction.
Shedding light on the film’s current progress, the Style actor assured fans that the project is advancing at a brisk pace behind the scenes. “We have completed the shooting of the film, and the post-production work is also in progress simultaneously. Very soon, we will be bringing this film to all of you,” Joshi added.
When the project went on floors on Rohit Shetty’s birthday in March 2026, the filmmaker penned an emotional note acknowledging the overwhelming love the audience has showered on the franchise over the past twenty years. With the shoot now complete and a formidable cast ready to unleash chaos on the big screen, Golmaal 5 is gearing up to deliver another massive dose of unadulterated entertainment.
