New Delhi: In a latest development, the price of commercial LPG cylinders has increased across major Indian cities, including Delhi, the national capital, and Chennai, the largest city in South India. Although the increase may be slight, it represents the first increase in prices in two months. Commercial LPG cylinders have reportedly become expensive by ₹6 per unit, while the prices of domestic LPG cylinders have been left unchanged.
First Rate Hike in Two Months for Commercial LPG Prices
According to Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), prices of the commercial LPG cylinders in all major metropolitan cities will be as follows:
Delhi: ₹1,803
Kolkata: ₹1,913
Mumbai: ₹1,755.50
Chennai: ₹1,965
The price increase in Chennai was ₹5.5, lower than that in other cities. It is the first rise after two months of price cuts. In January and February, the prices of commercial LPG cylinders had been reduced in the national capital and Mumbai by ₹21.5, ₹20 in Kolkata, and ₹21 in Chennai.
Maintain the current domestic LPG cylinder prices and keep them low.
Domestic LPG cylinder prices, on the other hand, have not changed for almost a year. Related news The last revision was made on March 9, 2023, when the government reduced the price by ₹100 to announce the same ahead of the festival of Holi. Holi is just around the corner this March, and there is a buzz that the spoilsport government will again play a game by announcing more reductions in domestic LPG prices.

Delhi: ₹803
Kolkata: ₹829
Mumbai: ₹802.50
Chennai: ₹818.50
However, the domestic LPG cylinder rate was reduced by ₹200 per unit in the last price revision on August 30, 2023.
