New Delhi: As the conflict enters its third week, a recalibrated strategy is emerging from the corridors of power in Washington and Tel Aviv.
Moving beyond conventional strikes, the US and Israel have reportedly initiated a “new formula” specifically designed to dismantle the Iranian government by inciting a domestic revolution.
According to latest intelligence reports, the primary phase of this plan involves the systematic elimination of Iranian leaders notorious for suppressing internal dissent.
The recent killings of Ali Larijani, head of the Supreme Security Council, and Ghulam Suleimani of the Basij Force, are seen as strategic moves to remove the “enforcers” who traditionally crush street protests.
Commenting on the elimination of Larijani, US President Donald Trump stated to reporters, “They were the killers of their own people. They had a record of crushing rebels, and now they are gone.”
The strategy rests on three critical pillars. First, by removing hardline figures like the Assembly Speaker, the alliance hopes to embolden the Iranian public to reclaim the streets. Secondly, Washington is eyeing strikes on economic hubs that allow Iran to exert global influence. Hinting at potential disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, President Trump posted, “What if Hormuz is completely demolished and those countries whose ships pass through are held responsible?”
Finally, there is a surge in intelligence operations. Reports suggest that Israeli-backed operatives are active within Iran, with Iranian authorities claiming to have apprehended over 50 spies since the war’s inception.
Former US National Security Advisor John Bolton emphasised that for a successful coup, “rebellious citizens must be provided with weapons and money.” President Trump has not ruled out escalating the pressure, stating, “We are looking at what to do next. My goal is to completely eliminate the Iranian threat so no future President has to deal with this problem.”
While Tehran remains under a tense silence following the death of its Supreme Leader, the US-Israel combine appears committed to a long-term overhaul of the region’s geopolitical map.
