Washington D.C.: Donald Trump has officially returned to the presidency, taking the oath of office as the 47th president of the United States during a ceremony at Capitol Hill. This is Trump’s second term, after having served from January 20, 2017, to January 20, 2021. Vice President J.D. Vance was also sworn in alongside him.
Trump’s inauguration has marked the end of the era of Biden. However, Joe Biden, who beat Trump in the 2020 election, was not nominated by the Democratic Party this time around. But the party chose Kamala Harris as its candidate, and she failed to win.
And in his inaugural address, Trump faulted the previous administration for addressing those problems, declaring, “Today is a day of freedom for America.” “Our country will not allow any intrusion.” He said that the American people had elected him for a special purpose, and he declared January 20 to be America’s Day of Freedom.
Trump also highlighted that a new era for America is coming, and it will be different than anything that has been. He vowed to remember his country, its constitution, and his God. Looking back at his campaign experiences, he narrated how at one point he was attacked and even shot, with some conspiracies to kill him, but his life remained spared for a greater purpose. “I’m going to make lots of important decisions and provide orders today,” he said.
The newly inaugurated president announced the construction of a border wall with Mexico would resume and declared a national emergency at the southern border to curb illegal immigration. Additionally, he promised to deploy more troops to secure the southern borders and to immediately enact laws against organised crime.
America’s security as the number one priority again, Trump also promised that the country would again become a manufacturing hub. He vowed to bolster America’s globally competitive energy exports and take steps to lessen the impact of inflation. We will make decisions that will boost the auto industry and reform trade policies, raising tariffs and taxes, in order to make American citizens more prosperous.
With Trump in his second term, he is striving to alter America’s policy and bring fundamental changes to the federal government by appointing loyal supporters to positions of power and dismantling the notion of diversity, equality, and inclusion.
