New Delhi: As Diwali’s shimmer lights up India, shoppers are diving into a frenzy of gifting, blending tradition with a fresh twist — health-focused presents.

From classic mithai and dry fruit hampers to turmeric teas, spice kits, and fitness gadgets, this year’s festive haul reflects a nation balancing celebration with wellness.

Malls are buzzing, with Noida’s Gulshan Group reporting a 25-30% surge in footfall. Director Yukti Nagpal credits a GST cut for boosting premium gift sales by 15-20%. “Khoya mithai and dry fruits remain top picks, with 60-70% buyers opting for these,” she says.

Meanwhile, online bakery Bakingo anticipates a 20-30% sales spike, driven by customised gift packs fusing Indian and global flavours. Manam Chocolates, with its artisanal Indian-inspired treats, is fast becoming a chic alternative to traditional sweets. Founder Chaitanya Muppala notes, “Our chocolates are a modern festive must-have, loved by old and new patrons alike.”

Health gifts are the season’s dark horse. Sharp India reports a staggering 131% jump in demand for car air purifiers, while fitness app Fitter sees soaring interest in coaching subscriptions, smart rings, and health plans. “Gifting isn’t just about mithai anymore — people want lasting wellness for loved ones,” says Fitter’s Jitendra Chouksey.

From puja essentials to tech toys, shoppers are splurging with purpose, ensuring Diwali 2025 sparkles with thoughtfulness. As markets brim with festive cheer, this blend of heritage and health signals a vibrant, evolving gift-giving culture.
