Chhatarpur: In a deeply spiritual event that left devotees completely spellbound, a live snake was spotted coiled around a Shivling at an ancient Shiva temple in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh. The incident, which took place near the Ganga Sagar School, immediately drew a large crowd of worshippers who considered the rare sight a divine blessing.

The extraordinary event unfolded early in the morning when the first batch of devotees arrived to offer their daily prayers. As they approached the inner sanctum, they were taken aback to find a snake peacefully wrapped around the sacred Shivling. Recognizing the religious significance of the moment, the devotees quickly alerted others on the temple premises and ensured that nobody disturbed the reptile.

For nearly two hours, the snake remained inside the sanctum sanctorum. During this time, the temple authorities and local residents maintained perfect discipline. Instead of panicking or attempting to drive the creature away, the crowd maintained a safe distance and offered their prayers from outside the main shrine. Many worshippers captured the fascinating visual on their mobile phones, and the footage quickly became a subject of immense devotion across the region.

According to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva is intrinsically associated with snakes, famously depicted with the serpent king Vasuki coiled around his neck. For the devotees gathered at the Chhatarpur temple, witnessing a real snake gracefully wrapped around the deity’s symbol felt like a direct manifestation of divine presence. People at the spot described the occurrence as a rare and miraculous coincidence of faith and nature.

Throughout the two hour period, the serpent did not display any aggressive behavior, nor did anyone attempt to provoke it. Once the snake naturally slithered away from the Shivling and exited the temple premises on its own, the regular temple activities resumed. A collective sigh of relief swept through the crowd, and devotees finally entered the sanctum to perform the traditional Jalabhishek and offer their prayers to Lord Shiva.

The peaceful resolution of the incident ensured that no untoward situation or harm occurred to either the public or the snake. The local community continues to discuss the event, viewing it as a profound reminder of the deep spiritual connection between nature and divine reverence.
