Chhatarpur: Shaligram Garg, the younger brother of Bageshwar Dham chief Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, has once again found himself at the center of a major controversy. He has been accused of opening fire at a local farmer during a heated land dispute in Madhya Pradesh. The victim, identified as Motilal Kushwaha, sustained severe injuries during the violent clash and is currently undergoing urgent medical treatment at a district hospital.
The shocking incident reportedly took place in Koda village located within the Chhatarpur district. According to the statements provided by the victim and his relatives, Shaligram Garg arrived at the location along with several of his armed associates. The group allegedly initiated an unprovoked attack over an ongoing property disagreement. Motilal Kushwaha claimed that the accused directly fired at him with the clear intention to kill. Initial reports suggest that a bullet grazed his ear and head area, leaving him critically wounded.
Following the sudden attack, panicked family members immediately rushed the heavily bleeding farmer to the nearest government healthcare facility for immediate medical assistance. His condition remains highly sensitive, although the police are still waiting for a detailed medical report from the attending doctors. Meanwhile, local law enforcement agencies have quickly swung into action to maintain law and order. A specialized police team visited the crime scene to collect crucial forensic evidence and record initial eyewitness accounts.
Reacting to the serious criminal allegations leveled against his younger sibling, spiritual leader Dhirendra Krishna Shastri completely distanced himself from the violent episode. He publicly clarified that he had severed all personal and family ties with his brother years ago. The prominent religious figure firmly stated that the law must take its natural course and requested the authorities to conduct a thoroughly impartial investigation without facing any external pressure.
The Chhatarpur police have initiated a comprehensive probe into the firing incident based on the primary complaint filed by the injured farmer. Separate police units have been formed to track down the accused individuals who reportedly fled the village right after the attack. The district administration has also deployed additional security forces in Koda village to prevent any further escalation of tension while the legal proceedings continue.
