Delhi Police Examines Witness Statements, Bank Accounts, and Social Media Traces in Parliament Lapse Case

New Delhi: The Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested all six accused in the case of the security lapse in Parliament on December 13. On Wednesday, the accused were brought face-to-face at the New Forensic Complex (NFC) to determine the sequence of events and whether their statements match.

The Delhi Police Special Cell is probing the Parliament attack case and interrogating the accused about their motive and background. To gather more information, the police have contacted Paytm, Google Pay, and Meta to check the bank accounts and social media accounts of the accused.

On Saturday, December 17, a committee of inquiry under the direction of the CRPF DG recreated the crime scene inside Parliament. Security personnel were asked to remain in their designated positions while the investigation equipment was examined.

The security breach incident occurred on December 13 during Lok Sabha proceedings when two individuals jumped into the house from the visitors’ gallery. They raised slogans and released smoke bombs, causing chaos in the house. All six accused have been arrested and charged under the IPC and the POCSO Act.

This incident brought back memories of the December 13, 2001, terrorist attack on Parliament House, which left a deep scar on the nation. The Delhi Police is determined to prevent any such incident in the future and is conducting a thorough investigation to ensure the safety and security of Parliament.
