New Delhi: The final toll from the devastating car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro station has been confirmed at 12, including 11 innocent civilians and the terrorist identified as Dr. Umar. The central government has officially declared the attack a terrorist act, and investigations have uncovered that the conspiracy was orchestrated over two years at Faridabad’s Al Falah University. Several doctors and students linked to the institution have been arrested in connection with the plot.

The blast marked Delhi’s first major explosion in nearly a decade, with the previous significant incident dating back to 2011 at the Delhi High Court parking. The explosion occurred on the evening of November 10 around 6:52 PM at a red light near the Red Fort Metro, where an i20 car carrying terrorist Dr. Umar detonated. Authorities revealed the blast was a hurried act triggered by recent arrests of several accomplices, derailing their original plan to carry out the attack on December 6.

Police investigations have traced the terror group to Al Falah University in Faridabad, which served as the hub for planning the attack. Confessions from arrested doctors revealed that the conspiracy had been in the works for two years. Arrests have spread beyond Delhi, reaching multiple states including Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, with over two dozen arrested so far. Notable arrests include doctors Mujammil, Adil Rais, Parvez, Arif, and others tied to the terror module.

In response to security concerns, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has temporarily shut down the Red Fort Metro station, suspending all entries and exits until further notice.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, returning from a two-day visit to Bhutan, visited the LNJP hospital to check on the injured and assured that the masterminds behind this conspiracy will not be spared.

Investigations revealed that the terrorist vehicles were bought and sold multiple times to avoid detection, and explosive materials were stockpiled over years. The terrorists reportedly underwent brainwashing in Ankara, Turkey, where the initial plans were formulated.

Amidst the ongoing probe, Dr. Umar’s family has acknowledged his extremist leanings but denied forewarning any authorities.
