New Delhi: In a resounding victory against terror networks, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested the alleged mastermind behind the horrific car bomb blast near Lal Qila that claimed 11 innocent lives on November 10.
Dr Bilal Naseer Malla, the 8th accused in the chilling case (RC-21/2025/NIA/DLI), was apprehended on Tuesday from Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir by a crack Delhi NIA team, marking a pivotal breakthrough in the ongoing probe.
The explosion, which ripped through a vehicle packed with explosives, left a trail of devastation, scattering body parts and shattering the festive air near the iconic Red Fort.
Eyewitnesses recounted scenes of utter pandemonium as the blast’s shockwaves echoed through the heart of the capital, turning a routine evening into a night of profound grief.
Dr Bilal, a local doctor by profession, stands accused of providing logistical aid to the deceased prime suspect, Umar Un Nabi, including shelter and assistance in destroying vital terror evidence. His capture unravels deeper layers of the conspiracy, with NIA vowing to connect all dots in this web of malice.
Police presented Bilal before the Patiala House Court here. The court granted seven days’ police remand, allowing investigators to extract crucial leads on the plot’s funding, recruitment, and execution.
This comes hot on the heels of another arrest in the same case – that of Amir Rashid, nabbed inside Patiala House Court on November 16, who too has been slapped with a fresh seven-day remand after prior interrogations.
NIA investigators, working in unison with both central and state agencies, are relentlessly dismantling the syndicate behind this bold attack.
As Delhi mourns its lost souls, this arrest signals a fierce resolve: terror’s architects will find no safe haven. The nation watches intently as justice inches closer to the blast’s shadowy perpetrators.
