New Delhi: In order to ensure quicker resolution of complaints/issues of drivers/transporters who are facing obstacles in transporting goods, including empty trucks, from one state to another, the Central government has decided to utilise the Control Room of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), where officers of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) are being deputed to tackle the situation.
Any driver/transporter who wishes to lodge a complaint during the lockdown period can dial 1930.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) helpline number 1033 is also available for any grievances related to National Highways.
The MHA has laid down strict guidelines for free and swift movement of trucks/lorries during the nationwide lockdown.
But despite these well-defined guidelines, truck/lorry drivers are being stopped at a number of state borders. This mechanism is expected to address the issues being faced in the movement of essential goods and medicines across states/UTs during lockdown.
