Balangir: A man, identified as Lokan Mishra, allegedly tried to dupe a shop owner by posing as Patnagarh MLA Saroj Meher. He was arrested from Barpalipada in Balangir district on Sunday.
According to police sources, the accused had opened a fake Facebook account in the name of Patnagarh MLA and messaged owner of a mobile phone store Sriram Das, demanding a smartphone.
Suspecting foul play, Das apprised the MLA about the matter. Meher then lodged a complaint following which a trap was laid by police to nab him.
