Srijal Chandrakar, a Class 9 student from Mahasamund in Chhattisgarh, has been selected to watch the moon landing of Chandrayaan-2 with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 7.
Srijal is among 60 students selected from across the country for the unique opportunity after they won a space quiz. The students will get to watch the lunar landing from the Indian Space Research Organisation headquarters in Bengaluru.
“It is a very big opportunity for me, and I thank my parents and my teachers for preparing me for this. I had never thought it would ever be possible for me to meet the Prime Minister,” news agency ANI quoted Srijal as saying.
Srijal’s family said it was elated with her achievement and it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
