Chelsea Joins Ananya, Rituraj, Omm In Earning Laurels For Odisha

Chelsea Behura, another teenage girl from Cuttack, who has made it to the
top 15 in Indian Idol 11, is making Odisha proud of its young aspirants once again.
They are dazzling in the world of performing arts with their talent. Chelsea
received a Golden ticket and a mike to enter the top 15 of the show, which is
being judged by Vishal Dadlani, Anu Malik and Neha Kakkar.

Odisha, in the last decade has been watching with delight as one after another
young artiste from the state is making a debut on the national scene, mostly
through reality shows. Before Chelsea, there have been other boys and girls
who have turned the spotlight on themselves and Odisha with their stellar
performances, outshining their rivals.

Satyajit Jena

The trailblazing young Odias preceding Chelsea, are Ananya Sritam Nanda,
Rituraj Mohanty, Satyajit Jena, Barnali Hota and Sohini Mishra who have made
it big in music reality shows.

Prince Dance Group

There have been some who have won at the national level in dance
competitions too such as Rajasmita Kar, Prince Dance Group and Omm Shubham
Mohapatra, who made it to the finale of Dance Deewane 2 in September this
year.

Omm Shubham Mohapatra

Ananya Sritam Nanda was the winner of Indian Idol Junior Season 2. While she was
competing in Indian Idol Junior, she got a two-year record deal with Universal
Music India. Trained in Hindustani classical, Ananya has recorded songs for
the Hindi movie “MS Dhoni: The Untold Story” and is a regular playback singer in the
Odia film industry having recorded songs for movies like “Agastya”, “Baby” and
“Katha Deli Matha Chhuin”.

Rituraj Mohanty drew the attention of the public when he became the winner
of the singing competition show “India’s Raw Star”. Rituraj too has been
singing for Hindi movies. Some of them are “Budhia Singh – Born to Run”,
“Bangistan”, “Bhoothnath Returns”, “Room- The Mystery”. Rituraj Mohanty
has recorded songs for some Odia movies like “Bhuli Jibi Tote”, “Sister Sridevi”.

Here’s hoping that Chelsea Behura too will find a foothold in the world of
playback singing and make Odisha proud.
