Chandigarh Court Chaos: Sidhu Shoots Son-in-Law

Chandigarh: A shocking incident unfolded at the Chandigarh Court Complex today, where a marriage dispute hearing ended in a tragic shooting. Former Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Punjab Police, Malvinder Singh Sidhu, opened fire on his son-in-law, resulting in the latter’s death. The deceased, an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer in the Agriculture Department, was fatally wounded during the altercation.

The incident occurred during a family court session where both parties had convened to discuss the ongoing marital discord. During the proceedings, Sidhu requested to leave the room, stating he needed to use the bathroom. His son-in-law offered to accompany him, and the two exited the courtroom together.
