Bhopal: In India’s Madhya Pradesh local leaders of Dindori district reacted quickly after the scandalous video of a woman washing a hospital stretcher after her husband’s death was posted online. This incident that occurred at Gardasari Primary Health Centre prompted the dismissal of a nursing officer and an attendant or dismissive transfer of a medical officer to another community health centre based on his acquisition of gifts.
According to the video, a sad woman, who was requested to clean the stretcher after her husband died in the hospital. Anger grew fast as watchers found out that according to the accusation, she was ordered by the hospital employees to perform this chore instead of getting assistance. People involved in the making of the video were subjected to disciplinary actions after the video was produced.
From the Public Relations Department of Madhya Pradesh it emerged that the Chief Medical and Health Officer of Dindori took disciplinary measures against the staff concerned. According to the orders, Dr/Medical officer Chandrashekhar Singh has been posted to the Karanjia Community Health Centre temporarily. Also the Nursing Officer Rajkumari and attendant Choti Bai Thakur were put under suspension on the same incident.
The gruesome incident happened when the woman took her husband to Gardasari Primary Health Centre for treatment. Unfortunately he died in the facility leaving her and her children filled with sorrow. Instead of being assisted during this moment of sorrow, she allegedly was reportedly asked to wipe the stretcher. A passerby was able to videotape the event and this sensitive video clip was posted on the web, igniteing the public fury and administrative response.
What Did the Order Say? The order which was issued by Dindori’s Chief Medical and Health Officer said that the viral 31 October video was of a deceased patient’s widow who was forced to clean the hospital bed. In this particular case there were already working outsourcing cleaning services but the woman was expected to make the bed herself. The official report pointed out about the response that has been provided to the issued show-cause notice to the staff and to this order, the nursing officer and attendant were suspended.
