Mumbai: BJP leader Ram Kadam has made a telling statement about actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, targeting Maharashtra’s former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Kadam accused the government headed by Thackeray of tampering with the case to shield their own. He said that after tearing up the vital evidence, the Thackeray government passed on the case to the CBI. Kadam maintained that if the case had been transferred to the CBI prior to the destruction of evidence, Sushant’s family would have got justice.

Kadam stated that the Bihar Police encountered obstacles during their investigation in Mumbai. He questioned why that was so and asserted that evidence was intentionally destroyed to shield the accused. He emphasised that despite removing the furniture from Sushant’s house, repainting the house, and allowing the original owner to return, nothing had changed. Kadam also questioned why Rhea Chakraborty and her associates were protected during the investigation, suggesting there was an intention to cover up for some people.

He also underscored that the father of Disha Salian felt that the Uddhav government had also not delivered justice in his daughter’s case. Kadam also questioned whom Uddhav Thackeray was shielding and asked about Sushant’s restless soul. He asserted that the CBI would have achieved justice for Sushant Singh Rajput’s family if they had taken over the case earlier.

Almost five years after the incident, the CBI submitted a closure report on the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput. The report cleared Rhea Chakraborty and her relatives, stating that there was no evidence suggesting murder. The CBI’s closure report said that Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide in June 2020.
