Bhubaneswar Cinema Halls, Cable Operators To Pay Civic Fee

Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has asked nine cinema halls and six cable operators in the city to deposit a fee.

In a notice, BMC deputy commissioner Srimanta Mishra said that the cinema hall owners were earning revenue by showing advertisements of different companies. Therefore, they shall have to pay a part of their revenue to the BMC.

Besides, the six cable operators using BMC electric poles for their overhead cables will also have to pay a fee to the civic body.

The cinema hall owners were asked to submit the list of advertisements within a stipulated time to BMC. If they fail to comply, BMC will take action against them, the notice warned..

The nine cinema halls that were served the are Inox at Bhawani Mall and Tamando, Cinepolis at Esplanade, Keshari, Maharaja, Sriya, Swati, Stuti and Ekamra Talkies.
