New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to undertake a massive developmental push across Rajasthan and Gujarat on July 4, inaugurating and laying the foundation stones for multiple mega projects worth over ₹1.06 lakh crore. The visit will focus heavily on boosting regional aviation, urban mobility, and semiconductor manufacturing.
The tour will begin in Rajasthan, where the Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the newly constructed terminal building at the Jodhpur airport at 10:45 AM. Built at a cost of ₹480 crore, the modern facility spans over 23,000 square metres and holds the capacity to handle 20 lakh passengers annually.
During the event, he will also launch a revamped version of the UDAN regional connectivity scheme. Aimed at accelerating aviation growth, the modified scheme has been allocated a massive budget of ₹28,840 crore over the next ten years. The government has dedicated over ₹12,000 crore to develop 100 unused airstrips and provided a viability gap funding of ₹10,000 crore to support airlines. Strengthening the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, the initiative will also encourage the procurement of indigenous aircraft and helicopters like the HAL Dhruv and Dornier platforms to boost connectivity in unserved areas.
Following the aviation launch, the Prime Minister will travel to Balotra around 12:15 PM to address a public rally and unveil projects spanning petrochemicals, renewable energy, and road networks. A major highlight will be laying the foundation stone for the second phase of the Jaipur Metro rail project. Valued at over ₹13,000 crore, this phase will feature a 41 kilometre North South corridor connecting Prahladpura to Todi Mod through 36 stations. Additionally, he will hand over appointment letters to approximately 54,000 newly recruited youth across various Rajasthan government departments.
Later in the afternoon, the focus will shift to Gujarat. At 4:30 PM, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the CG Semi Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test facility in Sanand, Ahmedabad. Developed with an investment of over ₹7,500 crore, this plant is among the first four projects approved under the India Semiconductor Mission. The inauguration marks a major milestone as commercial production begins, strongly positioning the country within the global semiconductor supply chain.
