Aryan Khan Case: NCB Given 60 Additional Days To File Chargesheet

Mumbai: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has been granted 60 additional days to complete its investigation and file a chargesheet in the drugs-on-cruise case involving Aryan Khan.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of NCB, which was scheduled to file the chargesheet by April 2, had requested the special NDPS sessions court for an extension.

Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan, his friends Arbaaz Merchant and Munmum Dhamecha were among 19 arrested by the NCB following a raid on the Cordelia cruise ship at Mumbai’s International Cruise Terminal on October 3, 2021.

According to rules, the NCB is required to file a chargesheet in any case within 180 days of filing the FIR.

Earlier this month, SIT chief Sanjay Singh was quoted as saying that it was highly premature to say that there’s no evidence against Aryan in the cruise ship drug bust case.

NCB had seized 13 grams of cocaine, 5 grams mephedrone, 21 grams charas and 22 MDMA pills during the raid, conducted by then-zonal director (Mumbai) Sameer Wankhede, who has since been shunted out.

Aryan spent 26 days in jail before being being granted bail by Bombay High Court.
