Arijit Singh, Sharda Sinha Among Padma Awardees Announced On Republic Day Eve

NewDelhi: A list of recipients who will receive the prestigious Padma Awards in 2025 has been disclosed by the central government on Republic Day eve. The government will recognise 139 superlative contributors for their excellence in different fields this year.

Seven distinguished individuals, including the late folk singer Sharda Sinha will receive the Padma Vibhushan award among the highest recognitions. Among the distinguished awardees are Duvvuru Nageshwar Reddy from Medicine and Justice (Retired) Jagdish Singh Khehar for Public Affairs, while Kumudini Lakhia represents Art and Laxminarayan Subramaniam has contributed to Art alongside M.T. Vasudevan Nair who pass posthumous in Literature and Education field and Osamu Suzuki who received posthumous recognition in Trade and Industry

This year the Padma Bhushan award will reach 13 exceptional personalities, including former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi. This award category celebrates essential accomplishments across multiple disciplines, including social work and public affairs, among others.

Among those nominated for the Padma Shri honor this year are 113 people, including Arijit Singh, the famous singer. This honor recognises achievements across multiple fields, which include art together with social work, while extending to public affairs and science as well as engineering disciplines and the fields of trade, medicine, literature and education.

The Padma Awards are among the highest civilian honors in India, presented in three categories: Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri.
