Jharkhand: In view of rising COVID-19 infections and related deaths, the Jharkhand government on Tuesday announced lockdown in the state from 6 am on April 22 till 6 am on April 29 with a few exceptions.
Essential services will be allowed and religious places will remain open but gatherings of devotees will not be permitted. Mining, agricultural and construction activities are also permitted during this period, the ANI reported.
The Delhi government had earlier announced lockdown from 10 pm on Monday (April 19) till 6 am the next Monday (April 26).
Similarly, the Rajasthan government had also announced 15-day lockdown, beginning Monday (April 19). It will continue till May 3.
The Chandigarh administration had announced a weekend lockdown in the Union Territory from 10 pm on Friday till 5 am on Monday.
Similarly, A statewide lockdown is being enforced in Uttar Pradesh on Sundays. “There will be a weekly closure in all rural and urban areas of the state on Sunday. Only sanitation, sanitisation and emergency services will operate during this period. Necessary awareness works should also be done in this regard,” The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said in a statement.
All offices, except for businesses dealing in essential services, will remain closed on Sunday.
In Odisha, weekend shutdown will be enforced in all urban areas from April 24.

Chhattisgarh government had imposed lockdown in Sukma and Durg till April 19.
