Amazon and Google finally decided to call truce and allow streaming services on each other’s platforms.
YouTube and Prime Video were removed from Fire Stick and Chromecast respectively since 2017. Since then, Amazon had created a workaround for YouTube using Silk Browser. Now, users opening the bookmark will be prompted to download the new YouTube app.
The new app also supports Alexa voice integration, a feature the bookmark jugaad didn’t have. Commands such as, “Alexa, find top pop music on YouTube”, “Alexa, play next episode”, “rewind 20 seconds” etc now work.
Similarly, Prime Video app is available on Play Store for Chromecast.
