A Decade of Separation Ends as Aadhaar Helps Reunite Lost Children with Parents in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: In an emotional reunion, two children who had been living in an orphanage in Hyderabad for the last decade were finally reunited with their parents. The brothers, Raju and Emmanuel, were separated from their family at the age of five and have since been living under the care of the orphanage.

Nagendra and Srinu, residents of Kottappakonda in Palnadu, Telangana, were devastated when their two sons went missing ten years ago. The children, who are mentally challenged, had left home to buy something from a nearby shop but lost their way. Despite relentless efforts to find them, Nagendra and his wife eventually lost hope of seeing their sons again.

The breakthrough came during the orphanage’s Aadhaar registration drive for the children. When the fingerprints of Raju and Emmanuel were scanned, it was discovered that they already had Aadhaar cards. This crucial information led to the revelation that the boys were not only brothers but also had identifiable parents.

The orphanage management used the Aadhaar details to trace the children’s parents. When they contacted Nagendra, he was initially sceptical but agreed to visit the orphanage. Upon arrival, the family was overcome with emotion as they were reunited with Raju and Emmanuel.

Nagendra, who was involved in the hair business, and his wife were overwhelmed with joy and relief as they embraced their sons. The reunion was marked by tears and disbelief, as the family had long given up hope of being together again.

After completing the necessary formalities, Nagendra took his children home, ending a decade-long ordeal. This heartwarming story underscores the importance of initiatives like Aadhaar registration in reuniting families and providing hope to those who have lost their loved ones.

This remarkable reunion has brought immense joy to the family and stands as a testament to the perseverance of the orphanage management and the power of technology in changing lives.
