Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra’s impassioned speech in Parliament, which was hailed as her second coming, seems to bear a lot of similarities with a 2017 Washington Monthly article.
Zee News editor-in-chief Sudhir Chaudhary said the speech borrows liberally from an article published in the Washington Monthly on January 31, 2017, called Warning Signs of Fascism. According to a report published in DNA, Moitra did a copy-paste job and removed Trump’s name and replaced it with Modi’s. The section called DNA Test With Sudhir Chaudhary said Moitra picked six out of the 12 “signs of fascism” from the article.
The Zee News editor-in-chief said it was wrong of Moitra to present someone’s views in Parliament and that the Speaker ought to take action against her for plagiarism.
