Hardik Pandya Gets BCCI Notice For Sexist Remarks On Koffee With Karan

Mumbai: ‘Crass’, ‘Misogynist’, ‘Sexist’, ‘Cringeworthy’ is how Twitterati responded to cricketer Hardik Pandya’s remarks on Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan show, which also had his teammate K L Rahul.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is not amused and has issued show-cause notices to both the players asking them to explain with 24 hours.

KL Rahul chose his words carefully in the show unlike Hardik, who seemed to have got carried away when asked about his relationships, crushes and link-ups.

After the Twitter backlash, Pandya apologised for his comments stating that he ‘got a bit carried away with the nature of the show’.

“What Hardik has spoken at the show speaks poorly of the BCCI and Indian cricket. An apology is not enough and strong action should be taken so that right example can be set for the younger generation,” a BCCI official told India Today.

Pandya boasted about hooking up with several women and also how cool he was discussing the same with his parents.
“When I lost my virginity, I came home and said, ‘Main karke aya hai aaj (I had sex today)’. At a party my parents asked me ‘acha tera wala (women) kaun sa hai [who is your interest here?] so I said yeh, yeh, yeh (pointing out women)’ and they were like ‘waah proud of you beta’,” Pandya said.
He also said “I like to watch and observe how they (women) move. I’m little from the black side so I need to see how they move.”
