Mumbai: The highly anticipated mythological epic ‘Ramayana,’ starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, is already creating a massive stir at the box office, a full seven days before its theatrical release. Set to hit the big screens on November 5, 2026, the magnum opus has witnessed a phenomenal response in its advance booking phase, proving the sky-high excitement among cinephiles.
Recent updates on the film’s advance sales paint a picture of a potential box-office juggernaut. According to data provided by industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Ramayana’ has already sold a staggering 2.97 lakh tickets for its opening day. This impressive figure includes 2.41 lakh tickets sold independently of block bookings. The overwhelming demand is primarily being driven by the Hindi belt, though advance bookings across southern states and international markets have also commenced with an exceptional initial response.
Financially, the film has already crossed a significant milestone before even playing in theatres. Reports indicate that ‘Ramayana’ has minted Rs 12.77 crore in standard advance bookings. When factoring in the block seats, the total advance collection has reached an impressive Rs 15.57 crore. With a week still left until the grand premiere, trade pundits predict that the ticket sales will see an aggressive spike in the final two to three days leading up to the release.
“Given the current momentum, the film is perfectly poised for a historic opening. Several trade analysts estimate that the day one collection could easily cross the Rs 200 crore mark globally,” a trade source observed.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, ‘Ramayana’ has been the talk of the town, not just for its stellar cast but also for its monumental scale. Mounted on a reported budget of Rs 4,000 crore, the cinematic spectacle will be released in two parts. Fans have been quick to compare the film’s visually stunning trailers and special effects to Oscar-winning Hollywood epics like ‘The Lord of the Rings’.
The casting has also been a major draw for audiences. Alongside Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita, the film features an ensemble of heavyweights. South Indian superstar Yash essays the role of the primary antagonist, Raavan, while Sunny Deol plays Lord Hanuman. The supporting cast includes Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, veteran actor Anupam Kher as Jatayu, and Arun Govil as King Dasharath, promising a cinematic experience of epic proportions.
