Mumbai: Riding high on the unprecedented box office success of the spiritual drama Hanuman Ansh, writer-director Vishal Chaturvedi has officially announced his next cinematic venture. Teaming up once again with Mahaveer Jain Films, Chaturvedi will helm Ram Bola, a biographical film based on the life and legacy of the revered 16th-century saint and poet, Goswami Tulsidas.

The announcement was made on Monday through a joint post on the official Instagram handle of Mahaveer Jain Films. Sharing the title poster, the makers wrote, “With the blessings of Bappa, on this auspicious day, we humbly and gratefully bring to you Ram Bola—the immortal story of Goswami Tulsidas.”

The upcoming mythological and historical drama is being bankrolled collectively by Mahaveer Jain, Vishal Chaturvedi, Amit Upadhyay, and Raghvendra Singh. According to the makers, the film will chronicle the extraordinary life journey of Goswami Tulsidas, from his early life—when he was known as ‘Ram Bola’—to his profound spiritual awakening and transformation into an ardent devotee of Lord Ram.

Tulsidas is celebrated across the nation for composing the Ramcharitmanas, an epic poem written in the Awadhi language that made the Ramayana accessible to the masses. He is also the author of the widely recited Hanuman Chalisa, along with other prominent literary works like Vinay Patrika, Dohavali, and Kavitavali.

The announcement comes at a time when Chaturvedi’s current release, Hanuman Ansh, is rewriting box office history. Based on the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba and starring Shobhinav Satya in the lead role, the film has emerged as a massive blockbuster.

Made on a modest budget of around Rs 2 crore, Hanuman Ansh had a sluggish start, minting barely Rs 10 lakh on its opening day. However, driven by strong word-of-mouth and immense public appreciation, the film witnessed an astronomical jump in footfalls. In its sixth week at the box office, the spiritual drama has shattered expectations, crossing the Rs 200 crore net mark in India and amassing over Rs 260 crore globally.

Fans of the director are now eagerly awaiting Ram Bola, anticipating another deeply moving cinematic experience rooted in India’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage. The cast and release date for the new project are yet to be revealed.
