Haridwar: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has reacted sharply to the ongoing verbal spat involving actor-politician Kangana Ranaut and former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, dismissing the controversy as insignificant posturing by “cheap people.”

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an event, the Patanjali co-founder was asked for his perspective on the recent public exchange between the two high-profile figures. Dismissing the dispute, Ramdev stated that such controversies did not warrant serious public attention, remarking that “small people often make cheap statements” to stay relevant.

The exchange follows weeks of sharp public exchanges after actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut made critical remarks concerning historical controversies, farmer protests, and party discipline, which drew sharp pushback from several quarters, including former Kaiserganj MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Singh had publicly advised Ranaut to exercise restraint and avoid issuing unauthorised political commentary that causes public embarrassment.

When pressed on the issue, Ramdev defended Singh’s standing while reiterating that personal disputes between public personalities should not distract from substantive national issues. He added that leadership figures ought to focus on constructive social discourse rather than engaging in rhetorical point-scoring.

The controversy has generated substantial buzz across entertainment and political circles, with political observers noting that the exchange highlights underlying tensions between veteran regional leaders and newly inducted celebrity lawmakers.
