NEW DELHI — The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has issued a fresh warning of a nationwide agitation, accusing the Central government of making “empty promises” and committing a “betrayal” (vishwasghat) against the country’s youth. The youth-led pressure group stated that the government had failed to deliver on key assurances made during earlier negotiations, prompting preparations for another massive demonstration similar to its previous Jantar Mantar stir.

The escalation follows growing friction over written guarantees regarding the withdrawal of First Information Reports (FIRs) filed against students and youth activists. According to party representatives, the government had earlier extended an assurance that cases registered against demonstrators across the national capital and NDA-governed states would be dropped and that no punitive action would follow. However, the outfit alleged that authorities have reneged on these commitments.

Criticising the government’s stance, CJP representatives noted that despite repeated reminders and elapsed deadlines, the Centre has avoided providing formal, written commitments. The outfit asserted that it would not accept any half-measures or policy rollbacks that undermine agreements reached during past dialogues. Appealing directly to students and youth across the country, the leadership cautioned that if the government fails to honour its word, it will be forced to launch large-scale protests in New Delhi and multiple state capitals.

The warning comes as the CJP expands its public outreach and scrutiny of state machinery. The outfit recently launched a grassroots ‘School Thik Karo’ initiative to inspect public education infrastructure, which has triggered sharp political confrontations and legal hurdles in states like Maharashtra and Rajasthan.

Emphasising that accountability remains non-negotiable, the party reiterated that its movement is rooted in constitutional rights and peaceful resistance. While calling upon the youth to remain prepared for collective action, the CJP warned that continued non-compliance by the administration would leave students with no option but to return to the streets.
