Anantnag: In a tragic development that has sent shockwaves across the valley, a Jammu and Kashmir Police Head Constable was martyred following a sudden terrorist attack in the heart of Anantnag district on Wednesday. The cowardly assault took place near the bustling Lal Chowk area along the Kokernag road, prompting a massive security clampdown and an intensive search operation by the armed forces.

According to official reports, the terrorists targeted a police patrol team and opened indiscriminate fire. Head Constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi, who was on active duty, sustained grievous gunshot wounds during the sudden ambush.
